Step 3: Buying The Property
The Spain property market is pretty fast paced and properties can sell very quickly in Spain.
This is the point where you have viewed the property and made a decision to buy property in Spain, you will need to make a deposit of around 10% - 50% of the property price, usually within a 1 month period.
Deposits can be made with cash, credit card or by cheque.
Cash or credit card are recommended as cheque takes 10 days to clear and this can result in another buyer beating your offer.
With the offer accepted and the deposit paid, the next step is toexchange contracts.
This is where your lawyer will do property searches and make sure that there are no outstanding debts attached to the property, for which you may be liable.
