View towns in Costa CalidaThe Costa Calida is the long section of Spanish coastline of the province of Murcia, on the southeast coast of the Iberian peninsular. The capital of the Costa Calida region is Murcia, a small city situated inland, which is also the name of the province.
Costa Calida is situated between the Costa Blanca and the Costa de Almeria and has a total of 250 kilometers of coastline, beaches, rugged landscape and mountains. The area includes the Mar Menor (Little Sea), a huge saltwater lagoon that is separated from the Mediterranean, with over 170 square kilometres of shallow water.
The Costa Calida enjoys an average of 320 sunny days each year and receives less than 34 cm of rain. The winter temperatures range between 16 and 22 degrees Celsius and warm summers of about 28 to 34 degrees Celsius.
The property market is still energetic and in better health than many other coastal resorts in Spain. One of the reasons is likely to be that the property prices of the other coastal regions are not as attractive to new buyers looking for better value in lesser known areas. Although the infrastructure and leisure facilities of the Costa Calida are not yet up to the same quality of other coasts, the investment and development of the area is quickly gaining pace.
Golf on the Costa Calida has become a major leisure industry, there has been a sharp increase in the quantity of golf courses and of the quality of golf on the Costa Calida.
